Supplement Evaluation Framework & Protocol

How BrainFort USA analyzes clinical study data, audits proprietary blends, and evaluates cognitive supplement formulations.

Editorial Evaluation Framework

BrainFort USA evaluates dietary supplement formulas and ingredients using an objective 4-step editorial evaluation framework. BrainFort USA does not conduct clinical trials or laboratory experiments; our framework is an editorial process for evaluating published research.

1. Human Evidence Verification

We review peer-reviewed medical literature indexed on PubMed/NIH. We examine whether a given ingredient is supported by double-blind, placebo-controlled human clinical trials, or if evidence is limited to preliminary animal and cell-culture models.

2. Ingredient and Formulation Review

We analyze the biochemical mechanisms, standardized extract percentages (e.g., 50% bacosides for Bacopa monnieri), and nutrient bioavailability of the raw ingredients included in a formula.

3. Dosage and Label Transparency

We cross-reference individual ingredient amounts against doses used in clinical studies. We flag proprietary blends that hide specific ingredient quantities behind undisclosed matrixes.

4. Safety and Limitations Review

We document known contraindications, medication interaction risks (e.g., blood thinners, SSRIs), and dosage upper limits. We emphasize that raw ingredient studies do not guarantee finished product efficacy.

Scientific Evidence Classification Matrix

Evidence Tier Definition & Criteria Editorial Treatment
Tier 1: Strong Human Evidence Multiple double-blind, placebo-controlled human trials demonstrating statistically significant outcomes. Highlighted as established benchmark ingredient. E.g., Citicoline, Bacopa monnieri.
Tier 2: Preliminary Human Evidence Single small-scale human trial or mixed clinical findings requiring larger replication. Noted with explicit limitations. E.g., Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus).
Tier 3: Animal / In-Vitro Only Studies conducted exclusively in cell cultures or rodent models. Explicitly disclosed as unproven in humans; cannot substantiate finished product claims.
Tier 4: Inadequate or Undisclosed Undisclosed proprietary blend amounts or unstudied botanical combinations. Flagged with red alert warnings for consumer caution.
